Job Opportunity – Operations Manager
Operations Manager: Gillies Bay Improvement District
Permanent Part-Time: 16 hours per week
Salary: $30 to $34 per hour based on experience
Start Date: Immediately
Position Overview:
The Operations Manager plays a key role in managing the daily operations of our water system, ensuring the efficient delivery of clean, potable water to our residents. This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of water system operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, leadership experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.
This position requires:
- Project Management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, both small and large, with diverse objectives and deadlines.
- A working knowledge and experience with Water Distribution systems.
- EOCP certification is a benefit.
- Proficiency with Water Operations software, such as SCADA and meter reading software
- Commitment to keeping abreast of industry standards and innovations.
- Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with public officials, ratepayers, local committees and interest groups.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
- Excellent report writing skills.
